At Kitchens-4-U, we can do almost anything with a kitchen.  What do you want? If you can dream it, we can do it.

Layouts
The layout of your kitchen—where you place your appliances, your countertops, and your storage—will determine how cook-friendly your kitchen is. Ask yourself:

• Will I have to walk far to get water to top off a pot on the stove?
• Will I have enough space to slice, dice, chop, and otherwise prepare meals?
• Will I have room to store the olive oil near the stove or will I have to go across the room to get it?
• Will two or more cooks be able to work comfortably in the space without constantly bumping into each other?
• Will I be able to easily rinse dishes and load them into the dishwasher?
• Do I prefer a range or a separate cooktop and oven?
• Do I need a prep sink and a cleanup sink?
• Do I need an eating area in the kitchen?
• Do I need to add square footage?

Of course, if you’re remodeling, the structure of your existing home will limit your layout options. You’ll have considerably more flexibility the larger your space and if you’re building a new home or adding on.

At Kitchens-4-U, we use CAD Design Services which means we use the computer to show you up front what your new kitchen will look like.  By using CAD we can more accurately estimate scheduling times, it's easier to make changes or add something and you have a better idea of what to expect at the end of the job.

Cabinets
Because the cabinets typically represent your greatest expense and need to stand the longest test of time, you may be more comfortable choosing a style in a more neutral finish. Your cabinets' door style and color will have the most impact on your new kitchen's palette by making the strongest visual statement.

At Kitchens-4-U (K4U) we produce custom built cabinets to suit your needs - they are not pre-fabricated.

Appliances
Appliances also deserve top billing. Which ones you select and where you put them will determine how cook-friendly your layout is.

Countertops
Next you'll want to choose complementary countertops, flooring, plumbing fixtures, and architectural details. Don't try to get everything to match exactly. You can best give your kitchen a certain feel by making sure everything coordinates but still keeps its own character.

Flooring
Choosing the flooring that will enhance your kitchen's design as well as be easy to maintain are the most important things to consider. Types of Flooring are listed below:

Tile
Whether it is an old world charm you are looking for or a post-modern look and feel, designing with tile offers endless possibilities. Types include: ceramic, porcelain, quarry, Mexican, Terrazzo and Agglomerate to name a few.

Hardwood
With wood, you can choose from solid wood (strips, planks or parquet), engineered wood, wood laminates or synthetic laminates. There are pros and cons to each and we can help you figure out the best option for your flooring.

Laminate
Laminate flooring products have been popular in Europe for the past 20 to 30 years. Only now are they making a major impact in North America. Laminate Flooring is simply a multi-layered; wood based floating floor system offering durability, a wide range of design options, easy maintenance and affordability.

Stone
Stone is one of the oldest buiding materials known to man and is as popular today as it was a thousand years ago. Modern technology has allowed us to find more and more interesting stone and finishing it to a level of beauty unsurpassed by any other flooring material. There are over 18 different types of stone to choose from.

Vinyl
Vinyl has become a standard in homes today. Your design choices number in the thousands with quality that ranges from entry level right up to premium with every imaginable type in between.

Lighting
To get the effect you want in your kitchen, take into account the many "ingredients" that go into an effective lighting plan. Lighting today's shiny granite, marble and stainless steel counter tops can create blinding glare, if homeowners aren't careful. In addition, working in a poorly lit part of your kitchen can be downright dangerous. Make a point to light work areas properly. Lghting is important for ambiance and function.

Fixtures
Fixtures are like everything else, many different styles and designs to choose from and many options to upgrade, therefore using a professional to help you decide what will match your kitchen plan is a must.

Textures
Texture adds contrast and interest to your kitchen surfaces. Think of texture in both tactile and visual terms. The texture of some materials becomes apparent when you feel it. Others have strong patterns or designs that create visual interest. A good design will typically mix three to four textures in the kitchen.
